Brighton Beach, April 2008


We went to Brighton for our anniversary last year. Surprisingly, it was the first time either of us had ever been there. I can see the appeal: a town devoted to tourism and English seaside charm, lots of boutique shops offering something different from the high street chain stores, nice restaurants, and an overall good atmosphere.


We have not visited again - yet - but I would like to go back.

Copenhagen, Denmark, Feb 2008


S took me to København for my birthday last year. We saw the famous Little Mermaid statue, walked to the top of the Round Tower, and had an all-around good time. I also fell further in love with Scandinavian design. Unfortunately - or fortunately for my wallet? - the shops were closed on Sunday, so all my Saturday window shopping and planning was for naught.

Napa Valley, May 2006


S and I spent a couple of days driving around Napa after S&H's wedding, and shortly after our wedding. We enjoyed playing the newlywed card to score a nice room at Villagio. This photo previously appeared on my blog here.

s and i visited the statue of liberty and ellis island while we were in new york for our wedding/honeymoon. i cropped this picture for my calendar so that it focuses on her face, but left the whole version here.

spring-in-training

it's beginning to feel a bit warmer. the days are getting longer (although british summer time does not start for a few more weeks. hint, hint to readers in california who might be tempted to call. as of tomorrow when you spring forward, we'll be 7 hours ahead instead of 8.)


it's not quite spring yet but i'm ready for my favorite season to reach full bloom...

Knaresborough, April 2007


We visited Knaresborough with S's family over Easter two years ago (wow - how time flies!) It's a charming town in North Yorkshire and we had gorgeous weather.
