15 minutes of fame?

being on tv is one of those things that only seems to happen to me in different countries. when i lived in japan, i had a tv show for several months before the 1998 nagano olympics. and today, i went to an audition for a game show being taped in london.

i won't say too much about it yet in case the producers are trawling the internet for dirt on potential contestants. but i should be able to tell you more in a few weeks.

in preparation, i had a girlie day yesterday - pedicure, manicure, hair color. it takes a lot of time to look this good :)

seen the sidebar?

just a quick update to my blog, allowing you even more voyeuristic ways to peer into my online life.

follow me on twitter...

and read things i have bookmarked on del.icio.us.

i am brandarling on both sites.

you might also want to bookmark my RSS feed (*cough* mom, pop, big al *cough*) so that you can keep up with my recent adventures.

i would recommend del.icio.us to anyone who finds interesting things on the web, but cannot find them again later. it's a great alternative to adding another bookmark to your already-long drop down menu.

i'm not so sure about twitter yet, but maybe if more of you join and follow me, and i can follow you, then we can carve out a little corner of the web for ourselves...

what do you think? tell me, what are you doing right now?

hampton court palace

one of the best things about having visitors is the chance to be a tourist in your own backyard. at the end of our italy trip, my parents spent a few days with us in london, and we took them to hampton court palace.

the palace tour was interesting - they have tried to make it interactive - and they even pump stew aromas into the kitchen to make it seem more authentic.

my dad wanted more information on the astronomical clock in the front courtyard. anyone know about it?

i was more impressed with the immaculately groomed gardens...

following in the spirit of british summer, s and i joined e and her colleagues for twelfth night at the open air theatre in regent's park on thursday. if music be the food of love, play on... highly recommended.

and i had pimm's with my burger tonight. roll on, wimbledon!
